Interactive Installation

A rear-projected interactive screen allows visitors to play with their digital shadows, leaving evanescent traces of their actions and passage. The piece offers an ironic take on the modern obsession for the photographic self-portrait whereby all poses, acts and traces inevitably disappear. The piece also toys with the idea of exploring the simplest possible form of interaction and ‘user generated’ content: the body itself and its contours.

Enjoyable alone or in groups, SELFIE is a simple, fun, effective and thought provoking interactive artwork that places visitors, their behaviours, attitudes and interactions with others at the very heart of the exhibition. Participants often take real photographic selfies of themselves playing with the installation, transforming it into a playful game where bodies and group interaction truly are the content of the work.
